Sunday 28 July 2013, was the fifth of eight 2013 Singapore National Series Races. The 1/10 class had fewer entries than usual, with many drivers focusing solely on 1/8 in preparation for the World Championships in Japan this year. Due to the absence of XRAY driver Erwin Luhur, Nicholas Lee and Nelson Lee in 1/10-- there were some new faces on the podium and in the TQ spot.
NT1 driver Aidi Amin clenched his second podium for the year in 3rd. Singapore Team Manager at the 2012 worlds in Bangkok, Nicholas Willcox, also had his best performance of the year taking 2nd. Sam Craig qualified 2nd and a solid race enabled his first A Main victory in a Singapore National Series Race.

Commenting on his performance, 2nd place Nicholas Willcox said he had a race âśwhere it all seemed to come together!âť Nicholas is relocating away from Singapore for his job, so achieving 2nd place was good closure for Nicholas who has been one of the most regular racers for the past three years. Likely moving to India where there are no on-road tracks the he can find, Nicholas âśhopes to return to Singapore for big races in the future.âť
1st place Sam Craig had a good race but ran into tire handling issues and ran out of fuel at the very end. Fortunately, he had opened up a lead that was sufficient when his mechanic decided it was a good time test his engineâ™s run time! 3rd place Aidi Amin was fast but had his share of racing woes that day.

Dimas Adrian took the top qualifying position. Also, very fast was NT1 driver Kenji Tiara who took the 4th position in the A Main.
In the 1/8 class, XRAY driver Erwin Luhur qualified fourth and finished fourth in a very competitive field of drivers. Erwin was in contention for a podium position but when his rear tire came off after a tire change, he fought hard but could not regain his position.
